People fail to realize
that what we put in our body affects our overall health whether it’s good or
bad. Heart disease, cancer, lung disease and strokes are the leading causes of
death in the United States. These four diseases are causes of death that are
related to nutrient. “Chronic diseases degenerative conditions or illnesses
that progress slowly, are long in duration, and lack an immediate cure; chronic
diseases limit functioning, productivity, and the quality and length of life.
Examples include heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.” (Sizer & Whitney,
2013) Although some diseases can be prevented from simply maintain a healthy
life style these are disease that can be causes from genetics but it is up to
you to make the right choices as far as what you eat and if you choice to be
active throughout the day. Daily activity and well balanced meals will help
keep your body in good health. Some things can’t be prevented but doing what
you can to maintain good health is the best thing to do. Malnutrition is caused by to lack of nutrition.
It is due to a deficiency of the vital nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates,
vitamins and minerals that are required to endure acceptable health.
Malnutrition deteriorates the organs and immune system therefore it makes one vulnerable
to many diseases and common infections.
